Bob & Jenna Torres are a bunch of Vegan Freaks. Not only have they been doing their podcast for quite a spell now ( it's informative, irreverent and full of cuss words - so, yeah it's good) but they run
website, manage a
forum and have put out a couple of great books via their
Tofu Hound Press. I've been dug in since the first podcast, so, it's nice to see them
waxing vegetic in Newsweek of all places! Yes, I'm gushing.
Slightly related to the Bob & Jenna story above
is this story related to
vegansexuality - something that has been popping up in the news as of late. No pun intended.
The Los Angeles art/noise duo NO AGE "
apply the principles of vegan cooking to their art-punk noise" How's this for a kick ass music quote you don't see everyday "
I’d say we’re a little experimental with music in the same way vegans have to be experimental with baking. I can’t use an egg. You have to rewrite the rules,” he says. “It’s just like our band—trial and error.”
Eat at Bill's is a documentary. It's "
a portrait of a hip Berkeley organic vegetable Market [that] depicts how a community forms around one family's dream of a vegan heaven" Yes. Yes. Sounds like my kinda place -
you dig? AND it's playing
San Francisco Documentary Festival along with a bunch of other sweet looking docs. Damn, I miss Cali....
It looks like my school newspaper (school as in, I work there, uh..) has a few words about some
misconceptions regarding veganism. Go purple! Oh. Yeah and
check out this quaint piece about Veganism.
Animal Activism has always had a home at colleges -
this story, talks a little bit about a program that was created in conjunction with Vegan Outreach. Believe what you may, but so much power can come from a pamplet. GO VEGAN!
Have you ever seen a 40 dollar four-course (sometimes 5, ha!) vegan meal cooked in a kitchen the size of a closet? Uh, yeah, I have.
Check it out. Oh. Yeah, and then there's this review of everybody's favorite crunchy granola
Caravan of Dreams as well.
